Workshop/Atelier

A one or two-day polymer clay workshop that

will teach the artist how to make the proprietary

Burlesque Blend on day 1 and then, on day 2,

turn that blend into a wearable work of art.

This workshop will focus on a proprietary technique for creating a beautiful

surface veneer called the Burlesque Blend. The second day will instruct the

student in working with multi-level pieces, designing a jewelry piece incorporating

texture and/or glitter and/or pearls/gemstones/metal. The focus will be on

making a pendant similar to the red one pictured in the middle.

 

The workshop will

also discuss the process for incorporating the Burlesque Blend into the other two

designs pictured above.

Cost for the 2 days: $145.00 per person

Materials fee: $20.00 per person or bring your own as listed below

Time required: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each of two days

Supply List: All students

must

bring the following:

 basic clay working materials (work surface, pasta machine, acrylic roller,

tissue blade, needle tool)

 12" or 16" ruler, pencil, small scissors, small spray bottle for water, scalpel

or fine x-acto knife, black sharpie pen (fine point)

wire working tools (if you have them - there will be some available to

share)

 Materials

 

: all who do not request that I supply material must

bring the following:

·Kato clay: 3 oz. black + 1 oz. translucent + 2 oz. total of light metallic and

medium metallic (example: gold is a light metallic, gold plus green is a

 beautiful mid-tone olive metallic)

 Art Institute glitter (some other glitters melt in the oven!) co-ordinated

with your metallic colours)

kato liquid clay

 ~ 12 inches of 20 gauge wire (copper or brass or artistic wire) or bail for the

pendant

neckwire or cordage

texture plate and/or 120 grit sandpaper

 page protector that is non-reactive with polymer clay

one 3” x 3” sheet of cardstock with your name on it.

 10” piece of buna cord, 2 mm thick·

one sheet of 100% rag layout paper and burnishing tool or paper

parchment paper, deli paper, donut (silicone) paper, hand wipes

(containing alcohol), paper towels or rags (for clean-up)
